Seth Anandram Jaipuria School introduces International Early Years Curriculum

In yet another progressive step towards delivering a global learning experience to students, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, is introducing the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) for pre-primary learners in the academic session 2024-25.

The IEYC is a child-centred curriculum for learners aged between 2 to 5 plus years. It incorporates global best practices, holistic inquiry and play-based approaches that cover all curriculum areas including personal, social and emotional development. Given that about 85 percent of a child’s brain development happens in the early years from age one to six, IEYC focusses on optimising this development through a unique learning programme wherein children are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and be creative.

Comments Shalini Nambiar, director principal of the school, “Our school focuses on holistic development of children from pre-primary to senior secondary. Much of a child’s growth depends upon how good a foundation has been laid in the formative years. Through IEYC, we want to nurture curiosity in children and encourage them to explore the world around them. Children will learn by playing games and doing activities in a supervised environment. Our teachers have also been trained to deliver the IEYC.”

The IEYC emphasises on thematic learning in which different subjects are integrated to create a wholesome understanding in children. It is a flexible curriculum easily adaptable to the Indian culture and context. It also helps to introduce children to global cultures and perspectives. Children are encouraged to reflect on their learning and apply knowledge practically.

For the upcoming academic year, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School is offering the IEYC for pre-nursery and nursery learners. The school’s teachers are being guided by International Curriculum Association, which has created the IEYC along with Fieldwork Education Ltd.

Seth Anandram Jaipuria School offers CBSE curriculum to all classes and Cambridge International curriculum up to lower secondary level. Admissions for the IEYC programme are currently open.
