“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”— Aristotle Education facilitates learning, knowledge and skill. It changes our mind and personality and helps us attain a positive attitude. In such a competitive world it is a must for all to have good education as it plays a vital role in shaping tomorrow’s leaders. The world is constantly changing and requires a society that is well versed in understanding the problems arising from cultural differences and intolerance of others’ beliefs and perceptions. Empathy in education is often deemed a ‘soft skill’. As educators, many of us begin each school year by celebrating individuals’ uniqueness, striving to understand differences, and setting goals for embracing the cultures of all learners. Education inculcates values as well as knowledge and skills such as respect, courtesy and consideration which are the foundations of a civilized society. Shalom Group of Schools nurtures students to be life-long learners, independent and responsible in an ever-changing world. No matter how great a role computers and other technologies play in the schools of the future, it is only a means and learning through interaction helps greatly in various aspects of life. Interactive classrooms and teachers help children develop warm, supportive relationships and experience enjoyment and excitement about school and society.  Learning at our schools is never linear; instead, students are immersed in the multidimensional and the experiential. They play, they perform, they experiment, they interact. They are encouraged towards value-led pursuits so that they comprehend their role in the larger context of the community and the world. We integrate an experiential pedagogy and extensive use of technology into our educational practices. We place considerable curricular emphasis on sports and the arts. Our faculty is challenged and empowered to engage students in processes that help them develop self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, and the self-motivation necessary to be successful human beings. It was this emphasis on creativity, innovation, and holistic development, which resonates most with our parents. Students at the Shalom Group of Schools are well-rounded individuals, enjoying academics, sports and the arts, and with high levels of emotional intelligence. Strong communication skills, social warmth, grit, compassion and adaptability are their hallmarks. They are curious and reflective learners, on a journey of self-discovery, but aware of local and global environments. And most of all, they have an attitude of excellence. Such children are the leaders and change-makers of the future. And we, at Shalom Group of Schools are proud to be their springboard to life. From time to time it is useful to ask how education meets the objectives of both individual and society. To the individual, an education must contribute skills, discernment and character. The skill of learning to learn independently, the ability to be discriminating about what is being taught or told, and the doggedness to hold onto one’s beliefs or complete one’s tasks in the face of adversity are perhaps paramount in the agency of education. Everything that happens in a school must be geared to these
