Shri Ram Global School (SRGS), Greater Noida West, has introduced a hands-on, in-house STEM curriculum for students of Grades 3 to 5, with the aim of cultivating scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills from an early age.
Recognising that the Primary Years are a time of heightened responsiveness and creativity in children, SRGS designed and implemented its own cost-effective STEM kits, priced affordably between ₹500–₹900. These kits, which are included in the annual book list, enable students to build 15–18 working models each year.
Grade 3 students explore concepts of sound, motion, gravity, and energy through projects such as balloon rockets, harmonicas, and marble mazes. In Grade 4, students delve deeper into mechanics and electricity, creating devices like electromagnets, table lamps, and robotic hands. By Grade 5, learners engage in more complex experiments involving hydraulic systems, solar updraft towers, and stethoscopes, exploring areas such as renewable energy, biomechanics, and fluid dynamics.
Each activity is designed to integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in an engaging and accessible way. Beyond academic knowledge, the curriculum fosters technical skills, scientific inquiry, creativity, and teamwork.
“Our goal is to make education meaningful by enabling students to apply what they learn in real-life contexts,” said a school representative. “The STEM programme has significantly enhanced student engagement and confidence.”
With its innovative approach, Shri Ram Global School is nurturing the next generation of thinkers, builders, and problem-solvers—equipping them early for success in a fast-evolving scientific and technological world.
