Sir J. J. College of Architecture, Mumbai is an architecture school located in Mumbai, affiliated to University of Mumbai in Maharashtra. Asia’s first architecture school, the college was set up in 1857 as the Bombay School of Art & Industry by Sir Jamshetjee Jeejeebhoy, with the recognition and formation of a separate and independent Department of Architecture of the Sir JJ School of Art in 1913. In 1952, the department of architecture became a department of the University of Mumbai, and the school became the Sir JJ College of Architecture.
Sharing its premises with Sir J. J. School of Art and Sir J.J. School of Commercial Art, it is now rented from Government of Maharashtra as per the deed of Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy. Today, the college occupies two buildings commonly known as “Old Building” (a heritage building on campus) and “New Building”, housing the teaching and non-teaching departments along with a small workshop area and canteen space.
It offers two courses: the undergraduate Bachelor of Architecture (five years) and postgraduate Master of Architecture (2 years). The B.Arch course intake of seats for every academic year is approximately 70 students. Every academic year begins in the month of August and ends in the month of April.
Located on Dr. Dadabhai Naoroji Road, the 21 acres campus comprises three majestic buildings for education purposes and residence. The Sir Jamsedjee Jeejeebhoy School of Art, called after the distinguished Parsee Baronet Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, was first opened for pupils in 1857. The first building erected on this campus was housing the old Sydenham College.
The college occupies the “Old Building” and “New Building” housing the teaching and non-teaching departments along with a small workshop area and canteen space. The Old Building is one of the heritage buildings in the campus.

Placements:
Sir JJ College of Architecture has a training and placement cell for arranging the placement procedure for the students and providing them with adequate training programmes on personality development and communication skills to help them to understand and prepare for the recruitment process. The college also conducts mock tests and practice sessions on aptitude, quantitative ability, logical and reasoning to prepare students for the final Interview and written test. The placement procedure is as follows:
Placement highlights (2018-20): students graduating between 2018-2020 recorded a median CTC of INR 2.4 LPA, the highest CTC being INR 3 LPA. Recruiters included Amazon, Freelancer, Hsc Design and Ingrain Architects and K Raheja Corp among others.

Sir J. J. College of Architecture was ranked third for architecture by India Today in 2021.
The college houses heritage buildings in its campus and was recognised as a participant under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) ECO (Energy Conservation and Commercialisation) III Project by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) — India in 2008. Every year, the school publishes a magazine known as “Shilpsagar” (“the ocean of crafts”).
There is no on campus hostel facility at Sir JJ College of Architecture, but students can avail provisional hostel facilities available for boys and girls.
