On November 21, skill development training under CSR for unemployed youth was inaugurated by Veena Swaroop (director – HR, Engineers India Ltd.) at Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP), Bhopal. The skill development trainings are conducted by Centre for Research and Industrial Staff Performance (CRISP) in association with JBM Skill Development Centre in Faridabad. Around 100 class XII pass, school drop outs, SC, ST, OBC and BPL Category trainees mostly from rural background hailing from six different states, will be trained in welding technology. The objective of the training is to provide technical skills to marginalised and weaker section of the society, provide them employment opportunities and gradually bring them into main stream of the society.
The training was inaugurated by Swaroop in presence of senior officers from EIL, CRISP and JBM Group. Swaroop, in her speech, guided all the young trainees who are on the threshold of making a career and ready to join industry, on quality of work, dignity of profession and continuous enhancement of learning and qualifications.
She wished all the youth a prosperous future. The participants in turn expressed their confidence in the effectiveness of the training in helping them secure jobs. There were trainees from Tripura, Mandla (M.P.) and remotest parts of the country who had never dreamt of coming to Delhi for training. Some trainees also shared their positive experiences and and showered praise on EIL and CRISP. Expressing her joy and satisfaction at the positive feedback from the participants, Swaroop expressed her desire to have more female participants in the upcoming training sessions.
In the inauguration function, officials from EIL including Adil Feroze, General Manager (Corporate Services), Sandeep Samajdar, Dy. GM (CSR) were also present. Earlier on during the function, Shrikant Bansal, COO CRISP, welcomed the guests and gave a brief about CRISP and CRISP expertise in such trainings.
R.K. Sharma, Head, JBM Skill Development Centre briefed about salient features of the training. Rajesh Maheshwari, AGM & Chief Marketing Officer co-ordinated the inaugural programme and expressed gratitude towards EIL for sponsoring the training including all expenses of the participants. The training is of 3 month duration comprising 6 week class room and 6 week on-the-job training (OJT). The training was so successful that 19 trainees have already been sent to Chennai at JBM Plant (Ford Motors) for OJT.
