In preparation of future C-suite roles, girls of Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior, pursued an International Hybrid Corporate Initiation Programme under a start-up incubated at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Enterprise called ‘The Hanger’. The internship programme involved two weeks of online and two weeks of offline work. During the online module, the girls were introduced to various aspects required for a flourishing corporate career, such as creating LinkedIn profiles, resume management, profile enhancement, etc. Offline sessions of the internship were conducted in Singapore, which included lectures at NUS by professors currently teaching there. Along with visiting the incubation centre for start-ups at NUS Enterprise, ‘The Hanger’, the girls also got the opportunity to visit ‘Pollinate’, a joint initiative of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) that is intended to promote innovation and entrepreneurship by helping students and alumni build their businesses.
Not only did the internship help the girls improve their interview techniques, it also provided career counselling to help them build a more secure and clearer future.
In a cohort of 75+ students across five schools, SKV won ‘The Best Performing School Award’ and 11 of the girls received top awards out of the best 15 in the internship programme.
