Sloka School is a co-ed day school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It is a non-profit organization and the trust is equally represented among the founders, parents and teachers of the school. It was established on 13th July, 1997 with 19 students and four teachers. The founder trustees of Sloka School were Nirmala Diaz, Suresh Kuppu and Satish Kocharekar. The trust is responsible for the financial well-being of the school and monitors the tuition fees, apart from implementing and developing the school’s budget. It is also responsible for growth and expansion of the institution. Sloka School is currently running in its 14th year, with 340 students, 36 teachers, and 14 support staff members.
Sloka School’s new campus was shifted to Aziz Nagar in May 2008. The school campus is around three and a half acres with lush, green garden with a playground and sufficient space to run around for children. The garden accommodates pet animals like ducks, hens, geese, rabbits and dogs. The school is located a few kilometres from Gachibowli, hi-tech city, Kondapur, Madhapur and Mehdipatnam areas of Hyderabad. The school also owns a fleet of 10 buses as a transport facility for school students and teachers. Sloka School owns a fully functional kitchen providing children with nutritious, scrumptious, fresh vegetarian food. The building has been designed by experienced designers of Waldorf school in Germany – the Tietz.
The school is affiliated to CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and class X students pass out with CBSE certificate. English is the medium of instruction and the school offers Hindi and Telugu as second and third languages.
Suresh Kuppu
The academic session of the school runs from June to April. Admission for the new academic year starts in December of the preceding year. It is done on a first come first service basis and continues throughout the year. The age limit for admission is two and a half to three years as of July 31 for playgroup or nursery classes. The school management is the final authority on all admissions to the school.
