As India celebrated ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ a group of young scientists guided by Space Kidz India took the social media by storm by unfurling the Indian flag 1,06,000 feet above sea level.
While prime minister Narendra Modi’s call for Har Ghar Tiranga was responded to by many across the country hoisting flags on their rooftops, this group of students took the tricolor at least 30 kilometers above the surface of earth.
Ambassadors to NASA among several other space organizations of repute, Space Kidz India have launched 16 satellites through high school and college students.
“A Proud Moment to mark the beginning of #AmritKaal! #Tiranga flies at 1 lakh+ feet above the planet. Kudos to the young scientists from @SpaceKidzIndia, for unfurling the #Tiranga nearly 30 kms above Earth,” tweeted union minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda.
Meanwhile, Karnataka’s higher education minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan who was among the several others to share the video on social media platforms said, “What a breathtaking sight to see our prestigious national flag flying at such a high altitude. Congratulations to Space Kidz India, who raised the Indian flag 30 kilometers above the earth’s surface. #HarGharTiranga Abhiyan has no limitations.”
