According to an official release on November 10, SP Jain School of Global Management, Mumbai, which has recently been adjudged one of the Top 20 B Schools in the world by Forbes Magazine for the fifth year in a row, has appointed Dr. Debashis Guha as professor and director of Machine Learning.
The school has recently launched the Professional Technology Programme and with the appointment of Dr. Guha, the school is poised to gain formidable Subject Matter Expertise in the area of Machine Learning.
Dr. Guha holds a PhD from Columbia University in New York, a Master’s from Texas Christian University, a Bachelor’s from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and brings with him a wealth of more than 25 years of experience. He has carried out research in several areas of Machine Learning, has coached, advised and consulted with many multinational corporations, central banks and governments. He has taught at Texas Christian University, University of Texas at Dallas, Columbia University, and the Administrative Staff College of India.
Dr. Guha has researched and applied Machine Learning methods for sales forecasting, helped develop Artificial Intelligence based CRM systems, and has created Machine Learning based algorithms for financial trading. He has also developed many models for tracking and forecasting global macroeconomic conditions based on economic indicators and big data.
