St. Joseph’s Convent School, Bhopal is an all girls school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi since 1986. The school was founded in 1956 by Mother Ignatius, a Swiss nun whose foresightedness, deep insight and dedication contributed to its origin.
The school is managed by the Congregation of Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery, Province of Pachmarhi, India and boasts over 3,500 students from Kindergarten through class XII and 125 staff members. The school motto is ‘Virtue alone ennobles’.
Sited on a sprawling 11 acre campus, St. Joseph’s Convent School, Bhopal hosts a spacious and well stocked library with over 12,000 books, newspapers, periodicals, journals, CD/DVD’s, good collection of audio video tapes, well equipped science and computer labs with modern amenities to cater to the demands of the syllabus and students. The school also offers a gym and facilities for games and co-curricular activities.

At the pre-primary level, learning is fun and activity base. Children are encouraged to participate in drawing, coloring, writing, group games, clay modeling, puzzles and conversations. Poems and stories are taught using expressions and actions.
In classes I–V, a thematic approach is followed with various inter-active sessions and activities. The subjects taught include English, Hindi, science, mathematics, EVS/social science, general knowledge, value education, art education, drawing, craft and physical education.
In classes VI-VIII, emphasis is on acquiring conceptual knowledge, personality development, value education and coping peer pressure. The subjects taught in these classes include English, Hindi, science, mathematics, social science, Sanskrit, art education, value education, health education and Urdu.
In classes IX–X, stress is laid on preparing students for the class X CBSE board examinations. The subjects covered include English, Hindi, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, civics, geography, economics, computer science, value education, health education, art education, physical education and Sanskrit.
In classes XI-XII, science and commerce streams are offered with various combinations of subjects. Stress is laid on preparing students for class XII board exams and various competitive entrance examinations.

Admission is granted depending on vacancy and performance in the entrance examinations. St. Joseph’s Convent School, Bhopal does not admit students without Transfer Certificate from the last school attended. The school also does not admit students from a non-recognised school.
Admission to class XI is based on performance in the class X board exams and students from local schools are not considered for admission.

Despite being a Christian institution St. Joseph’s Convent School, Bhopal conducts general assembly as well as ashram assemblies and monthly prayer meets.
The school conducts regular in-service training programs for faculties and career guidance and counseling for its students. Class wise monthly mothers’ meets are also held to keep the mothers aware and updated about their children’s progress and behavior at school.
Being a day school, St. Joseph’s Convent School, Bhopal does not provide accommodation facility.
