St. Mary’s School, Mazagaon, Mumbai is a boys’ day school affiliated with the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), and offers education from kindergarten to class X.
The school was founded in 1864 and is managed by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) of the Bombay Province. Initially, this school was a Catholic Military Orphanage. Later, the school was opened to the Catholic populace in general meaning the school had to expand. This lead to the construction of the building that now houses the senior school whose foundation stone was laid down by Lord Linlithgow, the former Viceroy of India from 1936 to 1943. Catholic Anglo-Indians are given preference in admission.
St. Mary’s School, Mazagaon is housed in four Gothic-style heritage buildings and is divided into junior school (grades IV and below) and senior school (grades V and above).
It has two playgrounds. The classrooms are spacious, the labs well equipped and the library well-resourced. The school also provides a auditorium.
Sports facilities provided by the school include fields, courts and indoor rooms for cricket, football, basketball, gym, and table tennis.
St. Mary’s School, Mazagaon is affiliated with the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. Students are prepared to write CISCE’s class X ICSE exam. Three terminal examinations are conducted every year from class V upwards. The first exam held in August, second in December and the third at the end of March. Class teachers conduct oral and written evaluation to assess students’ progress up to class IV.

Students participate in many extra-curricular activities like quiz, debate, dance, arts and interschool competitions and indoor and outdoor games.

Children who are 3.6 or 4.6 years old as on May 31 of the relevant year are eligible for admission at St. Mary’s School, Mazagaon in the preparatory (LKG) class. Students applying for classes I to VIII are given an entrance test.
