The State Resource Group (SRG), consisting of secondary education teachers specializing in mathematics, English, and science, has initiated a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping teachers with effective and engaging teaching techniques. The two-day workshop, inaugurated virtually by Gulab Devi, Minister of State for Secondary Education (independent charge), took place in Lucknow last week.

Organized by the State Council of Educational Research and Training at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow, the workshop brought together experts from renowned educational institutions across the country to mentor the participating teachers. The SRG, recognizing the challenges students face in understanding these subjects, seeks to enhance teaching methodologies, making them more captivating and interesting.

During the workshop’s first day, Minister Gulab Devi encouraged teachers to leverage technology for improved instructional delivery. She emphasized the importance of fearlessness in their work and expressed her commitment to ensuring teachers’ mental well-being. GS Naveen, the Special Secretary of Secondary Education, highlighted the significance of tracking top-performing students and assisting them in gaining admission to reputable colleges for higher education.

Vijay Kiran Anand, Director-General of School Education, stressed the need for enhancing school education by making classroom activities more captivating and educational experiences more engaging. An initiative has been undertaken with the help of science expert Manish Jain to conduct two online sessions per month, enabling the SRG to learn effective methods for instilling scientific temper in children.

Anjana Goyal, Director of the State Educational Research and Training Council, emphasized that this workshop offers teachers an invaluable opportunity to enhance their skills and efficiency. By sharing their experiences and skills, the participating experts can pass on their knowledge to the students, ultimately benefiting the entire educational ecosystem. Bhagwati Singh, Joint Education Director (Camp), provided a detailed explanation of the SRG’s purpose, its functioning, and its pivotal role in promoting educational excellence.
