Suchitra Academy Group to set up UK’s Whitgift School in Hyderabad

Whitgift (estb. 1596), a prominent UK independent school for boys aged 10 to 18, has announced a partnership with Symbiquest Education and Riba, the operator of Suchitra Academy, Hyderabad as part of a multi-school initiative in India. The inaugural day school will be situated in Hyderabad and will deliver the International Baccalaureate curriculum to students from India and around the world.

Chris Ramsey, Headmaster of Whitgift School, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership and the establishment of their first co-branded international school in India. He emphasized the strong demand for high-quality education in India and the potential for mutual benefits between students in the UK and India.

The new school will offer a comprehensive range of academic subjects within the International Baccalaureate framework, with Whitgift providing quality assurance, curriculum advisory, assistance with school systems and processes, and guidance on extracurricular activities. The school will focus on fostering global citizenship and cultural diversity.

Praveen Raju, founder of Suchitra Academy and Senior Partner at Symbiquest, highlighted the commitment to providing a world-class education through this partnership. “We are committed to providing our students with a world-class education, and we are confident that our partnership with Whitgift is one that will deliver exactly that.”

International education advisors GILT Education facilitated the partnership, emphasizing the alignment of values between Symbiquest and Whitgift.

The new school in India is anticipated to open its doors by August 2025.
