At SVIS, we focus on holistic development programs for students, aiming to nurture all aspects of their growth, including intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and creative dimensions. Extracurricular activities and education are at the core of our curriculum, engaging students in various activities that promote leadership, teamwork, and resilience. These activities focus on creating well-rounded individuals prepared for various life challenges.

Sports Program:
SVIS offers Sports and Performing Arts (SPA) programs that promote physical health, teamwork, discipline, creativity, and emotional expression through activities such as Capoeira, football, basketball, and table tennis. From championship-winning teams to individual achievements in various sports, our athletes learn the values of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Arts Programs:
Our vibrant arts community nurtures creativity and expression through visual arts, music, drama, and dance. Students showcase their talents through exhibitions, performances, and competitions such as Speech and Drama, karate, music, and robotics. SVIS organizes various inter-school and inter-house competitions, including debate, kabaddi, Orator’s Combat, elocution competition, story writing, and story narration.

Our Sports and Arts programs are crucial in shaping well-rounded individuals and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

– Communication Skills: We continuously develop creative ideas to enhance our students’ reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities through various literature and language activities. For example, on April 23rd, 2024, every student had a self-reading hour of their favorite author to celebrate ‘Literature Day.’ They were given a book or novel of their choice and immersed themselves in their reading.

– Health Education: We believe in the holistic development of our children, teaching them the importance of nutrition and personal hygiene. We also focus on good manners, public behavior, and personality development.

– Wellness Programs: Activities like yoga and mindfulness are conducted during PE sessions and on World Yoga Day to promote mental well-being.

– Group Projects: Collaborative assignments across subjects encourage students to communicate effectively, solve problems creatively, and manage deadlines. SVIS celebrates cultural events like Hindi Bhasha Divas, Marathi Bhasha Divas, Navratri, Diwali, Christmas, and Janmashtami. Students also participate in National Olympiads, language testing, and assessment programs, and competitions like Homi Bhabha Balvaidyanik and the National Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE). Collaborative learning promotes mutual learning, skill development, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Our philosophy at SVIS is to prepare students for real-world challenges. We ensure that students gain practical insights and encourage them to engage in group projects throughout the academic year.

Additionally, SVIS takes pride in its victory at the regional level of Shakespeare’s Grand Slam Battle of the Bard. This achievement demonstrates the hard work, dedication, and extraordinary talent of our students. They brought the timeless words of William Shakespeare to life with passion and excellence, captivating the audience and judges alike with their powerful renditions of scenes from “Macbeth,” showcasing a profound appreciation for the Bard’s work.

Thus, we proudly say that our programs are designed to foster not only academic excellence but also the personal growth and character development of each student. SVIS is committed to providing a comprehensive education that prepares students not just for exams but for life beyond the classroom.
