Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the Ministry of Human Resources Development is seeking opinion on reduction of syllabus. People who are interested can give their opinion and recommendations using the hashtag #SyllabusForStudents2020. Since all educational institutes are shut and there’s no clarity as to when the new academic session will start, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the syllabus might be reduced for the upcoming academic session 2020-21.
The minister tweeted, “In view of the current circumstances and after receiving a lot of requests from parents and teachers, we are contemplating the option of reduction in the syllabus and instructional hours for the coming academic year.”

I would like to appeal to all teachers, academicians, and educationists to share their point of view on this matter using #SyllabusForStudents2020 on MHRD’s or my Twitter and Facebook page so that we can take them into consideration while making a decision.@DDNewslive

Twitter and Facebook users have been giving suggestions with the hashtag #SyllabusForStudents2020. The ministry will review the suggestions and create a detailed plan for the academic session.
Here’s what some of the Twitter users suggested:
There is no need to reduce the #SyllabusForStudents2020 ! Just cancel the Summer, Christmas, Diwali and other vacations to cover the crucial 2 months lost during this pandemic. Also Declare all the Saturdays as working day. Thank you!#CBSE @DrRPNishank @HRDMinistry @cbseindia29

Respected sir,
I am student of class 12th.
Sir please 🙏 reduce the syllabus 30%-40%. As we have to prepare for competitive exam also. And our 3-4 months already get wasted.
Sir please take decision as soon as possible 🙏.— Akshat Tiwari (@AkshatT45604976) June 9, 2020
Respected @DrRPNishank, online learning is fully prepared to be able to deliver the highest quality training. No need to reduce the learning of our youth capital. A very opportune time to consider letting online techversities give degrees. #SyllabusForStudents2020
