In a distressing series of events, TD Law College in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, has once again been thrust into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Following the recent suspension of a faculty member for soliciting sexual favors from a female student, another teacher from the same institution has now been taken into custody. The charges against him are deeply disturbing: the alleged sodomising of a minor boy within the vicinity of Line Bazar police station area.
The news of this arrest has sent shockwaves throughout the district, leaving the community in a state of disbelief. The successive incidents of sexual misconduct within TD Law College have raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of students in the educational environment.
The accused teacher was swiftly apprehended by the personnel of Line Bazar police station, leaving the local community in a state of disbelief.
The police have taken immediate action by booking the teacher under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), recognizing the gravity of the offense. The complaint lodged states that the shameful incident took place on May 31. Allegedly, the teacher lured the 11-year-old boy to his house under the pretext of providing him with a book, only to subject him to the heinous act of sodomy.
The distraught parents of the victim have come forward, revealing that the accused, identified as Santosh Singh, resided in their colony within the Jaunpur city area. The child’s mother was informed about the horrifying incident when the boy bravely disclosed the misconduct of his teacher.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (City) in Jaunpur, Brajesh Kumar, confirmed the arrest of Santosh Singh, emphasizing the serious charges of sodomy and POCSO offenses filed against him by the Line Bazar police.
TD Law College, a prestigious institution of higher education in Jaunpur, finds itself embroiled in scandal once again. This incident marks the second case of sexual misconduct within the institution in recent days. Earlier in May, another faculty member from TD Law College was suspended for soliciting sexual favors from a female student.
Pradeep Singh, the in-charge of the history department at TD Post Graduate College, was caught on camera seeking sexual favors from a student, leading to his subsequent arrest by the police. The college administration promptly acted by suspending Singh in response to the shocking video that had gone viral on social media.
These back-to-back incidents of sexual misconduct within TD Law College have raised serious concerns about the safety and security of students, leaving both parents and the local community deeply disturbed. Authorities are under pressure to take swift and stringent measures to address these alarming incidents within the educational institution.
