Teachers in Bengaluru to receive free career counselling support

Teachers free career counselling support

While healthcare workers have been rightfully applauded as the heroes of this pandemic, one often forgotten group is our teachers. Be it having to build new skills for an online teaching paradigm or using every trick in the box to keep students engaged remotely or facing sudden pay cuts and job losses, India’s 11 million teachers have faced the brunt of this pandemic in many unseen ways.

This Saturday, April 24 , a group of leaders and senior teachers are coming together to provide a free career counselling workshop online for teachers in Bengaluru. The workshop will have representatives from reputed schools (NPS group, DPS group), pre-schools (UK-based Kido) and ed-tech companies (Vedantu, WhiteHatJr, Mastree, TEJ), and will be facilitated by Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA), India’s widely-accepted teacher certification organization.

Ramya Venkataraman, Founder and CEO of CENTA, said, “The workshop will give teachers a view of the various career options possible in this profession and how to go about finding these options. Senior people from schools and edtech companies will give a real flavour of how recruiting works on the ground and how an existing teacher’s career can grow”. Similar workshops are also planned in the coming months for teachers in Mumbai, Delhi and other cities.

Registrations for the workshop are on m.centa.org. Date: April 24 th , 2021. Time: 4.30 to 6 p.m.
