TeachersHelpTeachers

TeachersHelpTeachers recently organized a successful Creative #Hackathon in collaboration with KJ Somaiya College of Education, addressing the urgent need for innovation in education. The event, held on December 15, aimed to foster creativity and innovation in teaching and learning methodologies.

TeachersHelpTeachers, among India’s largest communities of educators, focuses on simplifying and gamifying teaching while supporting educators in their professional growth. The organization specializes in curated courses, professional development, school consultancy, and recruitment services, all geared towards enhancing the overall educational landscape.

The Hackathon, going beyond a conventional competition, provided an inclusive platform for educators and students to showcase creative classroom demonstrations. With over 115 participants from Mumbai, the event featured diverse categories like Teaching Aid, Innovative/Best Teaching Practice, Game/Creative Tool, and Edtech/AI.

A distinguished jury, including Ms. Chaitali Mehta, Dr. Seema Negi, Ms. Bela Kotwani, Ms. Naghma Shaikh, Ms. Hema Chandra, Ms. Arpeeta Bhatia, Ms. Pushpalata Raja, Ms. Divya Tanwar, Mr. Dawood Vaid, and Ms. Rekha Shahani, evaluated entries based on criteria such as originality, eco-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, adaptability, and educational significance.

After careful consideration, the jury selected winners in both student and teacher categories, each receiving a cash prize of Rs 3000. The winners, such as Ms. Rukaiya Patel and Mr. Anil Kumar Vishwakarma, demonstrated exceptional dedication and innovative ideas that impact education positively.

All participants received certificates of appreciation from TeachersHelpTeachers (THT), attributing the event’s success to meticulous planning and execution by key individuals like Ms. Rakhee Chhabria (THT Founder) and Ms. Shilpi Srivastav (THT- Operations Head).

Looking to extend the event’s impact, TeachersHelpTeachers plans to compile a handbook based on the creative ideas and entries from the Hackathon. This handbook aims to serve as a valuable resource for educators and students, facilitating the replication of innovative ideas in classrooms and contributing to the democratization of education.
