Established by the Keshavlal V. BodaniEucation Foundation, The Gateway School of Mumbai is a non profit school for students with learning disabilities. It is a coeducational day school affiliated with the University of Cambridge Assessment International Examinations (CAIE), UK with English as the medium of instruction.

The school aims at providing greater access in helping students develop their knowledge, sense of understanding, creativity, skill and attitude required for them to grow as responsible citizens of tomorrow.
Located in central Mumbai, Govandi, The Gateway School hosts spacious classrooms equipped with mechanical ventilation facilities with a fresh air component. Classrooms and therapy spaces are specifically designed in accordance to the age group they cater to. The school building is furnished with sound insulator that prevents unwanted external noise. The infrastructure of the school at the lower and middle school includes an indoor gym and interaction room for the range of therapies provided by the school. The school also boasts Staff and Admin blocks that include a library and computing zone.
The outdoor facilities include free play area to encourage various sporting activities. The school also provides ample space accessible to students with wheelchair and other assisted access. It also provides ramps and lifts for movement along with stairways and corridors.
Affiliated with CAIE, UK, The Gateway School of Mumbai offers the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGSCE) curriculum. The curriculum is a blend of internationally acclaimed research based programmes similar to that of Gateway- Newyork.
At lower and middle schools, the academic structure incorporates a multi sensory learning approach like Preventing Academic Failure (Orton-GillinghamApproach) and the Stern Structural Arithmetic Programme among others. The subjects offered include English language, Arts, Mathematics, Information and Technology, Humanities (History, Geography and Environmental Science) and Science.
At the senior school, the academic programme provides students with learning experiences that are practical to their lives also enhancing their creative side and help develop their critical skills. The subjects include English Language, Science, Geography, Environmental Management, Information and Communication Technology and Art.
The school also organises Individualised Education Plan (IEP) that includes child’s academic and behavioural goals, one on one therapy sessions, and group placements thus ensuring that every student is able to acquire success in their academic life. It also providesafter-school services on offer, from remedial studies (language/math) to therapies (speech/occupational/physical/counselling) to sports and physical education.
Students are encouraged to participate in events such as Annual Presentation Day and Annual Art Show, Music, art and craft, movement and drama, counselling a and Visual Art classes as part of their co-curricular activities.
The sporting activities include basketball, football, athletics, gymnastics, and rock climbing that help in the development of sportsmanship and leadership skills.
