The Heritage School, Kolkata is a co-educational institution established in the year 2001. It is a K-12 day-boarding school promoted by the Kalyan Bharti Trust and is affiliated with Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. In the academic year 2012-2013, the school launched the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) for students aged 16-19.
With its rigorous academic curriculum, information technology infrastructure, and rich sports and extra-curricular activities menu, Heritage School, Kolkata has carved a niche for itself as a school with a difference offering value based education to nurture young minds. From an initial student enrolment of 421 students, this co-educational kindergarten-class XII day school has grown to more than 3000 students today.
Recently, Heritage won the HP ‘Innovations in Education’ award.
The Heritage School, Kolkata is spread across 9.5 acres in the Kolkata suburb of Anandapur and is beautifully landscaped. Five blocks house classrooms, science and computer labs while another block called the Abhivyakti where different activities like yoga, singing and dancing are taught.
The school campus also hosts a football, cricket and a volleyball field. Other facilities include a rock climbing area, archery, rifle, shooting range, swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, and a gymnasium. There are two dining halls and a canteen. The campus also houses an auditorium and an audio-visual room.
The Heritage School, Kolkata is affiliated with the Council of Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and offers this Delhi-based board’s class X (ICSE) and class XII (ISC) exams.It offers education from kindergarten to class XII.
The school received authorisation from the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate Organisation to offer the IB diploma programme in April 2012. The program, which commenced in July 2012, is being offered to students of classes XI and XII.
Since its inception in 2001, Heritage School has followed a policy of inclusion, wherein children with learning disabilities and other development delays are co-opted into mainstream classes. Special educators monitor the academic progress of challenged children and administer personalised needs-based programmes in specially designed resource centres to help them cope with mainstream learning. Committed to offering a stress-free learning environment, the school management has also made a special effort to provide a highly qualified team of counsellors on campus.
Extracurricular
The Heritage School offers opportunities for both outdoor and indoor games like cricket, football, athletics, tennis, basketball, volleyball, martial arts, swimming, rock climbing, archery, roller skating, rifle shooting, table tennis, badminton, chess, and carrom. The school also has a well-equipped gym and there are expert coaches assigned to guide and train students.
The school also encourages cultural activities such as dancing, singing, art and craft, dramatics, music, quiz, photography, creative writing, yoga and environment development.
While these activities are provided to the senior classes, the primary classes are encouraged to play games that are aimed at developing creativity and gross motor skills.

The minimum age requirement for pre-nursery: child should have turned two years by September 30 of the preceding year. For nursery, the child should have turned three by September 30 of the preceding year.
