Every day in this Covid-19 pandemic, the survival kit is in great demand because it feeds a family of five for 15 days. Government can manage to give rations that last for only five days. As part of Tilonia covid relief work, Barefoot College has decided to supply the kits to the most vulnerable, among them are destitute women and malnourished children as the 4th Newsletter highlights.
Not only once or twice but sometimes thrice, the Tilonia covid relief work survival kit has been given to the same family who have no source of income and depend on the Covid relief totally. The migrant and daily wage labourers working on MNREGA work sites have not been paid for months, the traditional musicians with no patrons, the silicosis patients left to die and the handicraft women who have lost their markets.
The survival kit has reached 453 villages over 9 districts of Rajasthan. They have been declared Hunger Free by the government. There is a growing demand for 2000 such survival kits today from all over the state.
