The India Global Higher Education Alliance Forum 2024, hosted by College Board at The Lalit in New Delhi, served as a crucial gathering for education leaders to discuss strategies for expanding global student access, supporting transitions to higher education, and fostering successful outcomes. This influential forum focused on key issues including access, diversity, and the evolving role of assessments in admissions processes, emphasizing the importance of a student-centered approach. Notable sessions covered themes such as “Passport to Global Higher Education,” “The Evolving Role of Assessment,” and “Expanding Access to Rigour,” each contributing to a comprehensive view of the modern educational landscape.
The event also featured a keynote address from College Board on the global impact of AP® coursework, followed by insightful discussions on the internationalization of higher education and advancements in STEM education. Breakout sessions delved into trends in global admissions, the role of data and technology in recruitment, and the essential skills students will need to thrive in a rapidly evolving economy.

Participating institutions included esteemed universities like MIT (USA), University of Cambridge (UK), University of Toronto (Canada), IE University (Spain), and Ashoka University (India), with senior representatives gathering to collaborate on enhancing global recruitment strategies and ensuring broad access to quality education. Discussions highlighted the importance of socioeconomic diversity, innovation in admissions, and global collaboration in addressing the challenges of today’s rapidly changing higher education landscape.
Meenakshi Kachroo Chatta, Senior Director and Head, India, South and Central Asia at College Board, expanded on the organization’s commitment to accessibility and equity: “This event has been instrumental in fostering collaboration among institutions to discover new ways to improve access to higher education.
