school jobs scams

April 26, Maharashtra’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday said it has arrested two officials working at the office of the Deputy Director of Education at Nagpur while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a representative of a school in Chandrapur district.

The accused officials were identified by the ACB as senior clerk Sunil Mahadevrao Dhole and staffer Pawan Ishwar Zade.

The representative of a private school in Chandrapur had sought the education department’s sanction for starting Classes 6 to 10. However, senior clerk Dhole, responsible for checking the proposal and sending it for approval to higher authorities, demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 through his colleague Zade to complete the task, said the ACB

The school representative, not willing to grease their palms, filed a complaint with the ACB which laid a trap and arrested the accused after they accepted the bribe amount, it said. A case was registered against the duo at the Dhantoli police station.
