Uddhav Thackeray, leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), revealed his party’s manifesto for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, promising a series of reforms aimed at improving the state. Among the key promises, Thackeray assured free education for male students, following the successful implementation of a similar scheme for female students. He also pledged to stabilize the prices of essential goods and scrap the controversial Dharavi redevelopment project, citing its potential negative impact on Mumbai’s growth.
Additionally, the manifesto highlighted plans to develop a new housing policy for the state, addressing rapid urbanization concerns, and to revise the approach to cluster development in areas like Koliwadas and Gaothans. Thackeray emphasized that this would be done with full consultation with the residents.
The leader also stressed the importance of creating jobs and boosting the state’s economy. Thackeray stated that these initiatives align with the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi’s broader vision, though with specific changes to reflect the unique challenges of Maharashtra. If elected, the MVA coalition, which includes Shiv Sena (UBT), Congress, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP, aims to address these pressing issues, fostering long-term growth and stability in the state.
