Udgam School for Children, Ahmedabad was founded in 1965 by Sarojben Carvalho in a tiny building but as it grew over the years, bigger premises became a necessity. Eventually, the Kantilal Jaikisandas Charitable Trust brought the school under its management in 1991and it was relocated to Thaltej Tekra in a new spacious building. The pre primary section is housed in separate premises at Jodhpur Cross Roads.
This Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated co educational school uses English as the medium of instruction and caters to students from the pre primary level to class XII.
The school seeks to “educate students to be accountable, productive and ethical citizens with the skills to think innovatively, reason critically, communicate effectively, and respect peoples of other cultures.”
The school campus is sited amidst verdant surroundings with an ergonomically designed school building hosting well ventilated classrooms equipped with audio visual smart classes that make the learning experience truly enjoyable.
Well designed separate computer labs for junior and senior students managed by well qualified faculty, well stocked library featuring over 20,500 books and various periodicals and magazines, well equipped science laboratories, a cafeteria, counseling rooms, crèche and homeopathy clinic are some of the other facility offerings at the school campus.
Affiliated with CBSE, the school prepares its students for the board examinations at the end of class X and XII. Visual based learning takes place in the classrooms with the installation of Smart Board in every class.
Extracurricular:
The school places emphasis on co-curricular activities as an important aspect for all round development; various sports, literary and cultural activities are encouraged. Chess is a compulsory activity for students of class V, VI and VII. Badminton, cricket, skating and tennis are some of the sports that are promoted by the school.
