UGC extends NET December 2022 application deadline

UGC NET results 2022 declared

November 7, 2022

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) in the late hours of Saturday. Applicants can now check the results at the official NTA website — ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The date was announced by the UGC Chairperson, M Jagadesh Kumar on his official Twitter handle.

The NTA has already released the answer key for the aforementioned exams. This year, the exam was conducted in four phases beginning on July 9 and ending on October 14. The first phase was conducted from July 9 to 12, the second phase from September 20 to 23, third phase from September 29 to October 4 and last phase from October 8 to 14.

The UGC-NET exam is conducted twice every year to determine the eligibility of candidates for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ in Indian institutions. This year, due to COVID-19 the December 2021 cycle got delayed, further delaying the June 2022 cycle. In order to regularise that, the NTA merged the cycles.

The minimum marks to qualify UGC-NET 2022 is 40 per cent for the general category and 35 per cent for the reserved category. Candidates will also have to pass each paper separately. Based on the Government of India’s reservation scheme, the total number of slots will be divided among various categories.

In 2021, the December 2020 and June 2021 merged cycles result was released on February. Prior to Covid-19, the NTA usually announced the results of UGC NET within a month or less. In 2020, the results were however delayed and were released after 2 months. The exam concluded on September 29 and the results were announced on December 1 that year. In 2019, UGC NET concluded on December 6 and the result was released in less than a month, on December 31 while for the June 2019 exam ended on June 28 and the results were declared on July 15.
