The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Chandigarh came into being as a department of University of Punjab (estb.1882) in 2002 and offers undergraduate (BE), postgraduate (dual degree BE+MBA/M.Tech) as well as doctoral programmes, all of which are approved by the New Delhi-based All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). UIET has its own Training and Placement Cell that helps students get enough industry exposure through guest lectures, seminars, industry-visits, and internships. It also has memoranda of understanding with leading companies such as Infosys, International Business Machine, IMTECH, Bharti Group; Sun Microsystems to name a few that helps students get the best of placements.
