Scotland’s prestigious University of Dundee is inviting applications for September 2019 intake of its four year full-time BSc (Hons) Business Management programme. This programme will provide the students with a broad, analytical, integrated and general business management education.
Students pursuing the programme at the university will get the opportunity to study at Scotland’s #2 ranked School for Business Management & Marketing (Guardian University Guide 2019). University of Dundee is also ranked among the UK’s top 30 universities in the Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 and The Guardian University Guide 2019. The university has received a Gold award – the highest possible rating – in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
The university’s BSc (Hons) Business Management programme is designed to boost understanding of the nature, impact and limitations of various business and management techniques. The students will also get the opportunity to learn how management can influence business performance while addressing society’s problems.
It is worth noting that Dundee’s BSc (Hons) Business Management degree is dual accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). This means that the students will automatically receive a second professional qualification upon successful completion. CMI is the only chartered professional body in the UK dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence.
During the course of the programme, the students will be provided good grounding in professional knowledge and skills by exposing them to many of the latest developments in business, management and organizational research. At Level 1, all the students will take a set of modules that are same or similar to the ones in BAcc, BFin and BIFin courses. This approach will enable the students to transfer between degrees if they want to specialise in certain areas, such as Accountancy or Finance, at the end of Level 1. Furthermore, the optional modules available in Level 3 and 4 will enable students to study specialist business management areas in greater depth.
Apart from traditional business management subjects, students are also offered opportunities to explore alternative, but increasingly important areas like Digital & Business Innovation, Consumer Experience in a Digital World, Economics of an Unequal World and Business Start-up. Business leaders and areas specialists are invited regularly to share real-time challenges faced by them, in order to acquaint the students will real-life problems.
Graduates of this course have successful career prospects in both private and public sectors. Types of job roles open to students pursuing the University’s BSc (Hons) Business Management degree include: marketing assistant, project officer, digital/creative industries, recruitment and talent management, human resource management, financial analysis, retail analysis and project management. Students at the University have gone on to take up positions on management training schemes with companies and organisations like Sky TV, Hollister, Morgan Stanley, Enterprise Car Rental, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Insights, Argos, brightsolid, Frame Digital, Marsh, Sainsbury’s Bank, Sellafield Ltd., Amazon UK, FourM Chartered Accountants, VodaPhone Greece and Tesco plc.
