The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board recently announced that the examinations for classes 10 and 12 will commence from April 24, 2021.
The class 10 board exams will continue till May 10 while class 12 tests will end on May 12. As per government officials, the exams will be conducted following all the Covid-19 guidelines and special arrangements will be made for over 56 lakh students.
The examinations will be held in two shifts for both the classes – the first shift will start from 8 am up till 11.15 am and the next one will be held between 2 to 5.15 pm.
“It is certainly a massive task considering the number of students who will appear for the exams, but all arrangements have been made following Covid guidelines and protocols,” Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma told The Indian Express adding that the government has increased the number of examination centres by 10 percent compared to the previous years.
Schools in Uttar Pradesh had reopened on October 19, 2020, after a gap of seven months caused due to the pandemic. According to Additional Chief Secretary (Secondary Education) Aradhana Shukla, students of classes 9 to 12 attended the schools. The classes were run in two shifts due to the Covid-19 protocol as well as arrangements were made for sanitisers and thermal scanning at the schools.
