UP govt suspends 60 school teachers for using fake degrees

The UP Government has suspended as many as 60 teachers of government school for using fake degrees and certificates to get teaching jobs. The decision to suspend such teachers was taken by the Uttar Pradesh Education Department. The UP Government is further planning to take action against over 4,500 government school teachers who have also been identified to have got the teaching jobs on the basis of fake B.Ed degrees.

60 teachers from Mathura district are also facing suspension. The District Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Chandra Shekhar said that the teachers including those who were transferred from Mathura to other districts, will also face legal action. The BSAs of all districts have also been entrusted the task of identifying the location of teachers who have got the jobs on the basis of fake degrees. As the probe continues, the number of such teachers may rise, according to Shekhar.

Earlier, the UP Government had terminated services of a government school teacher for teaching for 20 years using a fake B.Ed degree. The teacher named, Narainji Yadav joined the services in 1999. He was found guilty following a departmental probe.
