Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh will be equipped with organ donation facilities by the end of the next year. He mentioned that these colleges will have the capability to retrieve or transplant organs donated by individuals, and financial assistance will be provided to enhance this infrastructure.
Mandaviya led a pledge for organ donation with around 8,000 participants at an event in Agra and inaugurated a super specialty wing at the Sarojini Naidu Medical College, which is expected to benefit the local population and nearby districts. Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare SP Singh Baghel stressed the importance of organ donation to save lives and urged raising awareness about it.
The health ministry is launching the “Ayushman Bhav” campaign to ensure effective health scheme delivery during “Seva Pakhwada,” which starts on the prime minister’s birthday and includes various components like “Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0” and health and wellness events.
