Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar is an English-medium residential school for girls affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It was established in 1981 by O.P. Jindal, a former member of parliament, philanthropist and industrialist.
It is a boarding school exclusively for girls and focuses on all aspects of a student’s life – emotional, mental, physical, social and spiritual. Students and staff work together to develop a unique community of warmth, respect, mutual cooperation, friendship, leadership and love.
The school campus has an academic wing, utility block, spacious auditorium, health club, infirmary, dining hall with a seating capacity of 1000, and four hostels to accommodate 800 students. Accommodation for all members of VDJS is provided on the campus.
Indoor sports facilities include a fitness centre, shooting range, and a multipurpose hall for badminton and table tennis. Outdoor sports facilities comprise an Olympic size swimming pool, skating rink, multiple synthetic basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, grassy hockey field, soccer ground, 400 meters athletic track and proper set-up for archery, taekwondo, and yoga lawns.
The school follows the CBSE curriculum. Assessments form an integral part of instruction that enhance and empower student learning and test the core competencies of students. Formative assessments are regularly used through various modes of assessments catering to different learning styles of the learners to diagnose individual needs and to improve instructional programs, which in turn help students to learn more effectively. Summative assessments are held every quarter comprising two unit-tests and two full-length examinations.
Courses offered in middle school (classes VI-VIII) include first, second and third languages, mathematics, science, social sciences and skill subjects. Optional language courses (French or German) are offered along with co-scholastic subjects. Third language is exempted from the class IX and X curriculum; the rest of the courses remain the same.
Courses offered for classes XI and XII include English (compulsory subject) and five subject combinations.

Prospective parents are asked to complete the registration form and submit it along with the non-refundable and non-transferable registration fee of Rs. 15,000/- payable online.
After the completed registration forms are reviewed along with the other relevant documents attached, parents will receive an admit card informing them of the registration number of their daughter and the date, time and venue of the aptitude assessment for admission (AAA) to VDJS.
The registered girls are then eligible to appear for the AAA and expected to report at the venue of the AAA at the time mentioned in the admit card accompanied with her parents/guardians.
The parents/guardians of the qualified candidates will receive the admission offer letter from the Principal.
The Parents / Guardians will be expected to accept the offer for admission within the stipulated time and must submit all relevant documents along with the admission fee to successfully complete the admission of their daughter to Vidya Devi Jindal School.
The school was declared the Best School of the Year 2020 for North India in the category of Quality Academics, Leading Infrastructure and Women Empowerment by National Educational Excellence Awards.
The school won the ‘Pandemic Bravery Award’ 2020 presented by Worldwide Achievers for conducting Successful Online Academic Activities in the Pandemic Era.

Girls of Vidya Devi Jindal School are offered accommodation at four state of the art boarding houses namely Kasturba, Laxmibai, Sarojini and Savitri. Each has a capacity of 175 girls from age nine to 17. At the time of admission every girl is assigned to a boarding house.
