Villa Theresa High School, Mumbai is an English medium girls’ day school, affiliated with the Council for the Indian Secondary Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, and offers education to girls from kindergarten to class X.
Sited on Peddar Road in Mumbai, the school was promoted in 1932 by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary and started as a primary co-educational school.
The school recently celebrated its platinum jubilee; says a school spokesperson on the occasion, “As a pioneer in the field of education, our constant emphasis had been on the integral formation and all-round development of our students. As part of our celebrations, we plan major expansions.”
As part of its altruistic agenda, the school has been helping the poor and underprivileged apart from donating funds to the calamity hit. It also tutors girls who are unable to appear for the class X examinations conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), due to their social and economic limitations.
Located on Peddar road in Mumbai, Villa Theresa campus offers modern amenities such as three science laboratories – one each for physics, chemistry and biology, a well equipped computer laboratories, interactive boards, and separate language sections for the primary.
The computer lab is equipped with computing facility with dual core computers connected through the local area network. This lab features 65 personal-computing workstations with printer and scanner facility. Microsoft Windows software is available for word processing, statistics, spreadsheets and database management. The lab is also equipped with a new 3D Printing Technology and has a latest 3D printer that allows students to print 3D objects.
The St. Therese of Lisieux auditorium is equipped with modern audio visual facilities and has a seating capacity of approximately 800. The sound proof auditorium is fitted with a projector, modern lighting systems including flood light and spot lights, good acoustic system and is fully air-conditioned. It hosts numerous events including daily morning assemblies, annual day award functions, Inter School Competitions, Investiture ceremony and Alumni celebrations.
Sports facilities on campus include a 74 by 42 feet basketball court, a skating rink and a playground.
Villa Theresa High School, Mumbai is affiliated with CISCE and offers classes upto standard X. The school follows participatory learning methodology, thereby enabling students to take the lead in organizing meetings, exposure and exchange programmes.
Extracurricular: Believing in holistic education, the school promotes a plethora of extracurricular activities such as debates, quiz, math competitions, music, dance and drama. It also offers coaching classes for throw ball, basketball, football, badminton, chess and skating.
