Celebrating International Yoga Day (June 21) AryaGlobal Group of Schools that includes the AryaGurukul schools at Kalyan, Ambernath and the St. Mary’s School, Kalyan, Mumbai held a daylong virtual event with students and teachers coming together on an online platform to demonstrate various asanas (yoga postures).
Live-streaming the event on Facebook and YouTube ensured the interactive session on yoga was viewed live by students and their parents from the comfort of their homes. The event garnered eight hundred plus viewers with many viewers participating in the engaging and interactive sessions.
Meditation, chanting and breathing techniques are regularly taught and practiced by the students as yoga is an important aspect of the ‘Chinmaya Vision Program’ that follows the educational ethos of the Chinmaya Mission schools across the country and is the guiding philosophy behind the curriculum of all AryaGlobal schools. “Emotional development, good health, fitness and hygiene are important aspects of personality development and yoga can help our children achieve it. Ever since the lockdown, all AryaGlobal group schools have continued to hold various yoga events online which has proved to be a blessing as a larger number of parents can watch, follow and gain benefits from our events,” said Neelam Malik, Director, AryaGlobal Group of Schools.
Arya Gurukul students also bagged first place in the 8-11 and 14-19 age groups in an external open online yoga competition organized by XL Roots in association with Mumbai Yoga District during the entire month of June.
