The alma mater of Virat Kohli, captain of India’s cricket team, Vishal Bharti Public School, PaschimVihar has earned a good reputation for providing well-balanced, 21st century academic, co-curricular & sports education- Autar Nehru Nestled within west Delhi’s residential suburb of Paschim Vihar is the 1.5-acre fully air-conditioned campus of the CBSE-affiliated Vishal Bharti Public School (VBPS, estb.1989). Over the past three decades it has earned a good reputation for providing well-balanced, 21st century academic, sports and co-curricular education. In the latest EW India School Rankings 2018-19, VBPS is ranked among the Top 35 co-ed day schools of the national capital. Virat Kohli, captain of India’s cricket team, is this school’s most famous alum. Initially conceptualised as a modest neighbourhood K-VII education centre by S.K. Sachdeva, founder-publisher of Competition Success Review magazine among other education businesses,  Vishal Bharti Public School, Paschim Vihar was acquired in 2004 by the Modern Delhi Citizens Educational Society founded by Delhi-based businessmen Mahavir and Sunil Goel. Since then it has evolved into a full-fledged K-12 school with an enrolment of 1,900 students and 82 teachers on its muster rolls. “Our prime objective is to provide a safe, joyful and intellectually stimulating environment to nurture confident and competent global citizens. The school’s curriculum is delivered by well-trained teachers utilising contemporary pedagogies which are inquiry-based, experiential and collaborative to develop students’ communication, critical thinking, collaboration and creative intelligences. Moreover, we are fully committed to developing our students’ sense of responsibility towards the community and the environment,” says Mahavir Goel, chairperson of  Vishal Bharti Public School, Paschim Vihar. To fulfill the Modern Society’s objectives, the VBPS management has generously invested in providing the school with modern, enabling academic, sports and co-curricular education infrastructure. The school’s purpose-built 1.5-acre campus hosts a four-storeyed building housing the junior, primary, secondary and senior secondary wings with 52 air-conditioned Smart classrooms, state-of-the-art science labs, two well-equipped computer laboratories and a hi-tech maths lab, music and art studio, a 200-seat multipurpose hall and a well-stocked library with 13,000 volumes and resource materials. Moreover for the past three years, the school has been awarded the Green School certificate of the Delhi-based Centre for Science & Environment for its solar energy roof panels and rainwater harvesting initiatives. VBPS is also a recipient of the British Council’s International School Award 2013-16.
