Walsingham House School, Mumbai is an all girls day school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi. Founded in 1940 by Mrs. Tree, the school initially catered to the children of expatriates and Bristish Government officials posted in India. In 1955 the school was recognised by the Maharashtra Board of Secondary Education and the first batch of students appeared for the class X board exams.
In 1970, Mittal Trust took charge of the school and the school received recognition from the CICSE. Walsingham House School, Mumbai boasts 1,500 students and 103 faculty and staff members.
The mission of Walsingham House School it to commit itself to creating a harmonious and stimulating environment in which students are encouraged to think critically and achieve their maximum potential in terms of skills, knowledge and understanding. Through a rigorous, value oriented, curricular and extra-curricular programme, a sense of inquiry is instilled, which promotes lifelong learning.
The school campus comprises of three sections – Kindergarten (nursery, kindergarten and prep), Junior section (classes I to IV) and Senior section (classes V to X). The campus houses well equipped laboratories for biology, chemistry, physics and computers, a well stocked library, counselling cell, visual and performing art rooms and an infirmary.
The campus also hosts a basketball and badminton court and table tennis facility.
At the Kindergarten level, the school follows Playway method and in the Junior section children are introduced to a variety of disciplines with focus on understanding concepts and critical thinking. In the Senior school, students learn to integrate their lessons in a coherent manner, analyse them and draw meaningful conclusions.
Besides academics, the school offers a range of extra-curricular activities such as karate, dance, dramatics, debates and elocution and students are encouraged to participate in inter house, inter school, district, state and even national level competitions.

The school’s entry level is from nursery onwards and the school’s admission period runs from November through January. The eligibility age for admission to nursery is 2.3 to 3.3 years. Admissions to other classes are subject to availability and students are required to write an assessment.
