The West Bengal Police Board (WBPRB) has invited applications for the post of Sub-Inspector (SI) – Unarmed and Armed Branches. Candidates willing to apply can do the same on their official websites: wbpolice.gov.in or wbprb.applythrunet.co.in. The last date to apply for the Sub-Inspector post is 9th September.
The application for the post of West Bengal Police Sub-Inspector can also be submitted offline through the Sahaj Mitra Kendra (Tathya Mitra Kendra), which has been set up by the West Bengal Government in rural areas of the state. The application fee for the general/EWS/OBC category is Rs. 270 while for SC/ST, the fee is Rs. 20.

Eligibility Criteria of West Bengal Police Sub-Inspector:
The candidate must be a citizen of India and should have a valid graduation certificate in any discipline from a recognised university.
The candidate should be proficient enough to read, speak and write in Bengali language.
The Minimum age limit is 20 years while the maximum age limit is 27 years. There is relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years for SC/STs and 3 years for OBCs.
Selection procedure for West Bengal Police Recruitment 2019:
A preliminary examination will be held followed by Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Combined Competitive Examination and Personality Test. Candidates need to qualify each stage to proceed to the next round.
The selected candidates will have to undergo training as required. They need to pass the training from Swami Vivekananda State Police Academy or the Subsidiary Training Centre. Candidates who do not perform well during the training will be considered as unsuitable for the job and be ultimately discharged by the authorities.
The pay scale for the Sub-Inspector (Unarmed Branch) and Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch) includes Rs. 7,100 – Rs. 37,600 plus Grade Pay of Rs 3,900 and other admissible allowances.
