Whistling Woods International (WWI) proudly announces the upgraded Sony Media Technology Centre (SMTC) at its campus, marking a significant milestone in film and broadcast technology. In collaboration with Sony Corporation, this marks the second major relaunch in 12 years, reaffirming a commitment to advancing skills in content creation and broadcasting—a unique initiative in India.
Mr. Mikio Kita, Vice President, Sony Corporation, and Mr. Subhash Ghai, Founder & Chairman, Whistling Woods International, jointly re-inaugurated the revamped SMTC, signifying a dedication to technological innovation in the Indian media & entertainment industry. The centre showcases state-of-the-art technologies and end-to-end production workflow solutions from Sony.
Mr. Subhash Ghai stated, “This relaunch is a testament to our commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. By providing cutting-edge technologies and training opportunities, it plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of content creators and broadcasting professionals.”
The upgraded SMTC will feature Sony’s ‘Networked Live,’ transforming production workflows with components like Nevion Virtuoso and VideoIPath, embracing IP technology for remote and distributed production.

The centre will showcase Sony’s latest Venice 2 full-frame motion picture camera and Cinema Line-up models like FX9, FX6, and FX3 with G Master Lenses. It also includes a state-of-the-art theatre equipped for screening 4K content using Sony digital cinema projectors.
