WhizJuniors student wins UNESCO Worldwide Multimedia competition

Namya Joshi, a WhizJuniors student hailing from Ludhiana, bagged the winner’s title in the UNESCO Worldwide Multimedia competition in the 10-14 years age category. The contest was organised by UNESCO to recognise the talent of children and youth across the globe. WhizJuniors joined hands with UNESCO to offer a global platform to its students.

The theme of the competition “Empowering local communities to fulfill global missions” invited extraordinary thoughts and talents from the students who showcased their out-of-the-box, brilliant ideas. The top nine winners of the competition will be recognised and showcased in global events during the year. The list of winners are published on UNESCO and USFUCA websites as well.

This year, the UNESCO competition has maximum participants from India because of WhizJuniors’ collaboration with UNESCO to organise the competition, with both the organisations sharing the same goal of building a better tomorrow for children through technology, creative thinking, new and gamified ways of learning and use of innovative technology.

The contest was organised for three age groups – juniors of 10-14 years age group, youths of 15-19 years age group, and young adults of 20-24 years age group. The participants were required to showcase a project on achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 for their respective countries that included an idea and solution to accomplish the goal.

Other winners of the event who did WhizJuniors proud were Rudra Premani and Tanisha Savla in the 10-14 years age group. Other winners in the age groups 15-19 and 20-24 were from Kazakhstan, India, Ghana, Liberia amongst other participating countries. The list of semi-finalists also included Whiz Juniors student Yohaan Sanghvi who made India proud by showcasing his talent in the 10-14 years age group.

This competition has not only made an impact in their lives but has also given them a platform to explore their talent and knowledge at prestigious global platform like UNESCO. With this WhizJuniors model of learning has also got recognized at global scale” said Vidushi Daga, CEO, Whizjuniors.

The participation from students, teachers and schools is consistently increasing year on year with multiple competitions being organised by Whizjuniors.
