Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC), a curricular unit of St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), has launched its Event Planning & Experiential Marketing course beginning this academic year 2020-21 and it is a 10-month full-time diploma programme.
“While the Events industry has garnered a very optimistic growth in the media ecosystem, reality showed a dearth of qualified event professionals at the entry level. To plug this gap, XIC has stepped-up to the plate to give the Communications community, another breed of well qualified Event Practitioners,” said Dr. Fr. Conrad Pesso, SJ Director of XIC.
He added, “Some of our current courses like ‘Advertising & Marketing’, ‘Public Relations’ and the ‘Advanced Integrated Communication Programme’ already had an Event Management Module as a part of their programme. The response and the buzz generated from these ground events, encouraged us to offer a well-balanced Event-centric course to aspiring students who wanted to make a full-time career in Event Management”.
The course will also integrate the disciplines of Brand Marketing & Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Mass Media, Digital Media, Audio-Video Production and futuristic platforms of technology to make for a well-rounded event professional.
