XIME announces national seminar on ‘Make in India: Making it Work’

To understand and examine ‘Make in India’ in-depth, Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bengaluru is gearing up to host a National summit 2020 on ‘Make in India’ at its campus in the city on January 10-11, 2020. The two-day seminar will be inaugurated by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister – Road, Transport and Highways, Government of India in the presence of Dr. Jaimini Bhagwati, IFS (Retd.)&Former Indian High Commissioner to the UK, and author of “The Promise of India”, the Guest of Honour of the seminar.

The panel discussions, on both the days, will have eminent personalities such as Mr. Deepak Hota, CMD, BEML; Mr. Kamal Bali, President & MD, Volvo Group, India; Mr. Vikram Kirloskar President, CII; Mr. David Rasquinha Managing Director, EXIM Bank; Prof. Suresh Babu M., IIT – Madras; Mr. Anand Sen, ExecutiveDirector & COO of Tata International Limited; Prof. C.P. Chandrasekhar, Former Professor of Economics, JNU; Dr. Rajeev Gowda, MP, Govt. of India; Mr. Ajit Balakrishnan Chairman & CEO, Rediff.com; Mr. M.S. Unnikrishnan MD & CEO, Thermax exchanging and sharing their ideas, thoughts, and perspectives related to different aspects of ‘Make in India’.

Themed “Make in India: Making it work’, the National Seminar at XIME will talk about the progress of Make in India campaign since it was launched in 2014, highlight the drawbacks and challenges and seek solutions/strategies required to boost and make the program exponential success. The panel discussions, keynote sessions, and fire chats during the seminar will further create awareness amidst young minds and encourage Small Medium Enterprise (SMEs) to work towards innovative business solutions which will eventually encourage ‘Make in India.’

Sharing his thoughts about Make in India, Prof J. Philip Chairman, XIME& Former Director, IIM Bangalore said, “Make in India is a good initiative but it has an ambitious vision. The success of this national campaign missioned by our Hon’ PrimeMinister largely depends on the policies, initiatives, and actions undertaken by several industries in our country together. Through our 2-day National Seminar, we want to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit among the youngsters and spread awareness about ‘Make in India’.
