Yadavindra Public School (YPS), Patiala is an English medium co-educational day cum boarding school established in 1948 by the Late H H Maharaja Yadavindra Singh. Over the last six years, YPS has grown to a student strength of 1600 and staff strength of 100. Affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, the school prepares students for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examinations and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations at the end of class X and class XII respectively.
The school aims at all round development of the students and inculcating appreciation of India art, culture, music, dance, yoga and languages.
The 45 acre YPS campus is sited at a distance of 3 km from the Patiala railway station and bus terminus. The school houses a large playground, spacious and well-ventilated classrooms, swimming pool, well-equipped laboratories, a well-stocked library, a music room and a computer centre.
Other facilities include three boarding houses for boys and girls, a 15-bed hospital, quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff and a housing complex for teachers.
The school is affiliated with the CISCE, New Delhi and the medium of instruction is English. The school boasts 100 percent pass results in the ISC and ICSE examinations.
Co-Curricular:
The school promotes co-curricular activities such as debates, quizzes, dramatics and elocution. Treks and educational trips are also an integral part of the curriculum. Minimum age for admission to pre-primary school is 3.5 years, for Junior school 5.5 years and for Senior School 10.5 years. Prior registration is essential for admission and the children can be registered for any academic year as per the choice of the parents.
The registration for admission to pre-primary and class I to V closes on November 15 every year. Registration for classes IV and above is open only for boarders.

Fees can be deposited with State Bank of India (YPS branch) Patiala. Outstation parents can remit payment through bank draft drawn in favour of Principal, YPS, Patiala payable in any bank of Patiala. Payment by cheque is not accepted.
Boaders are required to pay fees on half yearly basis; first installment by December 31and second installment by June 30.
