Your Counsellor RepliesI‚m doing Plus Two (science) and want to qualify as an architect. What are the eligibility requirements for admission into an architecture college?Rajesh Sule, PuneAdmission into an architecture degree programme is on the basis of aptitude testing. You should shortlist the colleges you prefer, identify the required entrance test and write it. For instance in Maharashtra you are required to write the architecture aptitude test (Maharashtra Association of Schools of Architectural Aptitude Test ‚ www.maharch.org) conducted by the directorate of technical education. At the all-India level, admission into the B.Arch programme of IIT-Roorkee and IIT-Kharagpur is through the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination and the architecture aptitude test conducted when you are short-listed for counselling. The All India Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE also has a separate test paper for B.Arch applicants (www.aieee.nic.in). Usually architecture aptitude tests assess aesthetic sensitivity, drawing skills and spatial intelligence.
