Team Avengers have secured their second consecutive berth at the prestigious OXY25 Dota 2 tournament in Russia after sweeping WOF 2–0 in the National Esports Championships (NESC) 2025 Indian Qualifier final.
The dominant best-of-three series saw Avengers outmanoeuvre their opponents with clinical coordination. They took Game 1 in commanding fashion, 54–24, before closing the contest in Game 2 to reclaim their status as India’s top Dota 2 side.
Led by captain Abhishek Yadav, the team will now face elite squads from across the globe — including the USA, Brazil, China, Argentina, Egypt and Kazakhstan — for a share of the 5.5 million Russian rouble (approx. ₹55 lakh) prize pool.
“Winning the NESC 2025 Indian Qualifiers is a proud moment for all of us,” said Yadav. “Representing India at OXY in Russia for the second time is both an honour and a responsibility, and we are determined to give our best performance.”
Esports Federation of India Director Lokesh Suji praised the team’s consistency, calling their qualification “a reflection of India’s growing competitive strength in Dota 2”.
The NESC remains a key pathway for Indian esports athletes to reach the international stage, underscoring the country’s rapid ascent in global competitive gaming.
