The 9th CII National School Education Summit 2025, themed “Transforming Education: Shaping India’s Future Schools”, was inaugurated by Dr Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, alongside Dr Swaroop Sampat Rawal, former Miss India and ex-member of the Central Advisory Board on Education (CABE), and Amita Sarkar, deputy director general, CII.
In her keynote address, Dr Chauhan emphasised that “the noblest way to serve a nation is to become an educator”, underlining the role of school education in realising Viksit Bharat@2047. She highlighted the urgent need for youth-led transformation, integration of student voices in decision-making, and bridging gaps between higher education, skilling, and employability. Stressing the importance of STEM, AI integration, teacher upskilling, and student-centric models, she added that Amity students had already filed 100 patents, underscoring the value of innovation and research.
She further called for a balance between modern scientific learning and traditional values. “Human values such as respect, courage, compassion and kindness must form the foundation of education,” she said, noting the NEP 2020’s emphasis on blending Vedic teachings with contemporary approaches for holistic student development.
Dr Swaroop Sampat Rawal underlined the importance of India’s rich culture and arts in education, promoting experiential learning through initiatives like the 10-day Bagless School concept. Presenting Amity’s Vision 2030, Renu Singh, Principal, Amity International School Noida, highlighted the group’s commitment to sustainability and the “5Cs” of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity and compassion.
The summit also featured three plenary sessions on AI in Education, Future of STEM, and Capacity Building of Educators, with panellists from Deloitte India, Bharti Airtel Foundation, India STEM Foundation and NITI Aayog sharing insights on opportunities and challenges for India’s schools.
