NIIT University has signed two Memoranda of Understanding to expand global academic engagement and strengthen industry-aligned learning in cybersecurity.
The university has entered into an academic partnership with the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, to enhance international exposure and student mobility, and an industry collaboration with Checkmarx to advance practical education in application security.
Under the collaboration with Checkmarx, NIIT University will establish a Centre of Excellence in Cybersecurity. The partnership will support the introduction of industry practice modules, additive curriculum components, and joint capability development initiatives, enabling students to gain hands-on exposure to application security challenges.
The academic partnership with the University of Canterbury will focus on student exchange programmes, international workshops and collaborative learning initiatives. The agreement aims to provide students with access to global academic perspectives, international faculty and pathways aligned with post-study work opportunities.
Commenting on the partnerships, Prof. Prakash Gopalan, President, NIIT University, said the collaborations are designed to integrate industry expertise and international learning into the university’s academic framework to prepare students for global and technology-driven careers.
Through these agreements, NIIT University seeks to strengthen industry readiness and global exposure for students, with a focus on cybersecurity, application security and related career pathways.
