Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, hosted the 15th edition of the Amity International Model United Nations (AMIMUN 2026) from January 16 to 18 on the theme “Virtus Per Disciplinam” (Excellence Through Discipline). The conference had brought together more than 1,500 participants from over 30 countries.
Addressing the inaugural session, H.E. Ambassador Dr Neeraj Tandon, Director and Dean, UNUGP USA, said youth would be central to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. He urged students to contribute towards global peace through innovation and dialogue.
Shri Vizesh Rana, Second-in-Command, Border Security Force, said technological advancements were reshaping modern warfare and global security. He highlighted the role of the United Nations in maintaining peace and stressed the importance of youth participation in conflict resolution and humanitarian efforts.
Dr Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said India’s development by 2047 would be driven by the sustained efforts of young citizens. He reaffirmed Amity’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.
Mr Yatin Bhaskar Duggal, National Head, VBLC, encouraged students to adopt a spirit of selfless contribution and entrepreneurship, calling on them to become job creators and active contributors to the nation’s economy.
Prof. (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said AMIMUN provided a platform for dialogue, collaboration and leadership development. She underlined discipline as a core value of effective leadership and social responsibility.
Prof. (Dr) Laxmi Ahuja, Chairperson, AMIMUN 2026, said the conference aimed to strengthen critical thinking, public speaking and leadership skills while enabling collaborative solutions to global challenges.
The welcome address was delivered by Mr Debanjan Dasgupta, Secretary General, AMIMUN 2026.
During the session, AMIMUN 2026 was conferred the Bharat Excellence Award by the Bharat Book of World Records, and a pre-conference newsletter was released.
