Amid the escalating conflict in West Asia, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh held a virtual meeting with principals of CBSE-affiliated schools across Saudi Arabia to brief them on the regional situation and measures being taken to support the Indian community.
According to a statement shared by the embassy on social media, Deputy Chief of Mission Abu Mathen George, along with First Secretary Vipul Bawa, interacted with school principals and provided an update on developments in the region.
During the interaction, the officials briefed the participants on the current situation and the embassy’s initiatives for the Indian community. Queries related to the CBSE board examinations were also addressed.
The development comes after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the cancellation of Class 12 board examinations in the Middle East region in view of the ongoing US–Israel–Iran conflict. Earlier, the board had also cancelled the Class 10 examinations in the region.
The current phase of the West Asia conflict began on February 28 when the US–Israel combine carried out airstrikes on Iran. Iran later launched attacks on Gulf countries hosting American military bases.
