A coaching institute run by educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, was allegedly vandalised and pelted with stones in Patna on Tuesday night, police said.
The incident took place at Khan Global Coaching Institute in the Kadamkuan area. Police said they received information at around 10.10 pm regarding stone-pelting and damage to property at the institute and immediately dispatched a team to the location.
According to a statement issued by the City SP office, preliminary investigations and CCTV footage suggest that 15 to 20 individuals associated with another coaching institute in the city were allegedly involved in the incident.
Addressing reporters after the attack, Khan alleged that the group damaged property, assaulted a security guard and fired gunshots at the premises. He claimed the dispute stemmed from resentment over the institute’s low-cost coaching model and its success in competitive examinations.
Police confirmed that a physical assault had taken place but said CCTV footage had not established any evidence of firing.
Authorities said raids were underway to apprehend those involved, and further legal action would be taken in accordance with the law.
