The Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) at IIT Bombay has launched NEC Junior, a six-month entrepreneurship programme for the 2026–27 academic session to help schools establish Entrepreneurship Clubs for students from Classes 6 to 12.
The programme is open to schools across India and participation is free. It aims to provide students with practical exposure to entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership and problem-solving through workshops, challenges and project-based learning.
Under the initiative, participating schools will set up Entrepreneurship Clubs that will conduct structured activities throughout the programme. Students will take part in innovation and ideation exercises, entrepreneurship challenges, workshops, learning sessions and bootcamps.
A key component of the programme is the Eureka! Junior Challenge, where students will develop innovative ideas and present solutions to real-world problems.
The programme is designed to encourage hands-on participation, with students working in teams to build creativity, critical thinking, communication and leadership skills alongside an understanding of entrepreneurship. Eligible schools, teachers and students who successfully complete the programme will receive certificates from E-Cell, IIT Bombay.
The programme will run from July to December 2026. The registration deadline is 15 July 2026, after which nominated teacher representatives will attend a training and orientation programme. Workshops, challenges and other activities will be conducted throughout the six months, with the grand finale scheduled to take place at IIT Bombay in the second week of December 2026.
Schools with students in Classes 6 to 12 are eligible to participate. Each school must nominate one or two teacher representatives to complete the registration process and coordinate the programme.
